Veritas Battery has no account, advertising, cross-app tracking, or in-app behavior analytics. Your battery readings stay on your phone. Limited network request data is processed when the app checks for firmware.
What the app does
Veritas Battery connects directly to a compatible Veritas Vans battery over Bluetooth. It displays battery status, saves your preferences and recent battery history locally, lets you control supported battery features, and downloads battery firmware updates when you request them.
Information stored on your device
The app may store the identifier of your selected battery, battery readings and history, display and notification preferences, automation settings, and firmware-update status. This information remains in the app's storage on your phone and is not sent to Veritas Vans.
You can remove the selected battery from within the app. Deleting the iPhone app removes its locally stored information according to iOS behavior. On Android, clear the app’s storage in system settings or uninstall it to remove local history and preferences; archiving may retain data. Android app data is excluded from cloud and device-transfer backup. Bluetooth pairing records are managed separately in your phone’s settings.
Bluetooth and notifications
The app uses Bluetooth to communicate with your battery. If you enable notifications, your phone may show local battery alerts generated on the device. Veritas Vans does not operate a push-notification server for this app.
On Android 12 and later, Nearby devices permissions allow Bluetooth discovery and connection. Android 11 and earlier require location permission for Bluetooth scanning, but the app does not obtain GPS coordinates or track your location. Nearby automation uses Bluetooth signal strength. While connected, an Android foreground service maintains battery communication and displays a connection notification. You can disconnect from that notification outside an active firmware update. Android may limit background monitoring. Demo mode does not control a real battery or run this monitoring service.
Firmware downloads and standard network data
When the app checks for an update, it requests a firmware manifest and, only when needed, firmware files from the Veritas Vans update service. Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, processes standard network and security information such as IP address, country derived from IP, request path, request time, response status, user agent, and related request metadata to deliver files, prevent abuse, maintain security, and diagnose availability.
On our current Cloudflare plan, sampled HTTP security analytics may remain available for up to 7 days and security-event records for up to 24 hours. These requests are not joined to an app account because the app has no account. Veritas Vans does not use them to build user profiles, advertise, or track activity across apps or websites.
Information the app does not send
- No account, name, email address, or phone number
- No precise location or contacts
- No advertising identifier
- No battery identifier in firmware requests
- No battery telemetry or history sent to Veritas Vans
Third parties, advertising, and selling data
The app contains no advertising or analytics SDK. Cloudflare processes the limited network information described above as our service provider. Veritas Vans does not sell this information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for marketing.
Veritas Vans website
This policy applies specifically to the Veritas Battery app. If you choose to open the Veritas Vans website from the app, the website's separate Privacy Policy applies to that website visit and any shopping or support information you provide there.
Children
The app is a utility for owners of Veritas Vans battery hardware. It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes to app data practices will also be reflected in the App Store privacy disclosure and Google Play Data safety section.
